About this event

I’m Courtney Tyler, and I invite you to join me for an immersive and very special autumnal evening in the woodlands of Laragh. As a collab with Axe Club Dublin and Hips and Haws Wildcrafts I'll be offering a range of interesting sauna experiences with a wild food or nature based twist.

If you like this idea, please stay tuned for more!

You might get to taste some of my homemade wild foraged amaro to finish it all off!
*this is only a sample- foods will vary by the season and will be highly inspired by my ferments, preserves and borrow from my precious and hard earned wild food stores!

Time to unwind, chat, and eat seasonal, local, real food, slow food- wild & homemade food and drinks cooked around the fire.

When: Sunday 11 October 2026 | 430-730PM

About Courtney:
I live in County Wicklow and am happiest surrounded by trees, observing the changing seasons, and exploring our local hedgerows and forests for wild food and medicine.

I am a proud member of The Association of Foragers. While I am not a formal mycologist, I have safely foraged, processed, and consumed more than 100 species of wild mushrooms as food and natural remedies. I focus heavily on safety and sustainability, making sure you know exactly how to stay safe and enhance your health with wild foods. Over the years, I have extensive experience processing wild plants and fungi into food, herbal tinctures, teas, and salves, and I love passing on this practical, hard-won knowledge.

I am largely self-taught through years of dedicated study (and a constantly growing stack of mushroom books!), alongside guidance from many skilled and wonderful mentors. I have also completed a Forest Bathing Certification through Wicklow Partnership and Leader funding, and sometimes will offer a forest bathing or nature connection invitation during some of my walks, depending upon the abundance of fungi in the forest and the weather on that exact day.

Exploring the Alchemy of: Foraging | Fungi | Wild Food | Medicinal Mushrooms | Herbal Medicine | Fermentation

“I am passionate about sharing how nature nourishes, connects, and grounds me. My goal is to ignite curiosity and inspire others to explore the wild through food and medicine.” – Courtney

Based in the stunning County Wicklow, Ireland, Courtney thrives in the forest, observing the ever-changing seasons. A skilled and enthusiastic forager, she spends her days wandering hedgerows and woodlands in search of wild plants, roots, berries, and fungi to transform into herbal extracts, teas, salves, ferments, and nourishing food to share with her community.

Courtney’s passion lies in teaching others the wonders of the natural world. With infectious enthusiasm and a deep well of knowledge, she breaks down complex topics—whether about fungi, foraging, or herbal medicine—into engaging, hands-on learning experiences that empower participants to confidently explore nature themselves.
